Christine Darden (born 1942) is a NASA aeronautical engineer and mathematician who advanced research on sonic booms and supersonic flight and was part of the Hidden Figures group. She joined NASA Langley Research Center in 1967 as a human computer. The archival image records interaction with Coast Guard personnel at Coast Guard Base Los Angeles-Long Beach.
