View NNE of Great Coxwell Barn, Oxfordshire, England, UK, part of the monastic grange of Beaulieu Cistercian Abbey, Hampshire. Dendrochronology dates from 10 of the oak roof timbers suggest the tithe barn was under construction around 1292. The grange was run by lay brothers & servants who used the barn to store Abbey produce for sale including arable crops, seed, animal feed & wool; goods were paid for in coin to the Abbey. Cotswold rubble stone walls & buttresses, oak timbers supporting a roof of stone tiles. The barn is adjacent to the pond of Court House Farm.
