Image of a "loop filament" decorative LED lamp, an imitation design of earlier carbon filament lamps with a similar lumen output and colour, aided by a yellow coating on the glass bulb. This gives the advantages of LED technology - namely low energy use, low heat output and long lifetime and combines it with the aesthetically pleasing nature of decorative incandescent lamps. Prices were initially expensive but have reduced significantly making them in many cases preferable to their incandescent counterparts when taking into consideration the long lifetime and efficiency.
