Slaviansk, 1997, on a city bridge near the pencil factory. An archive black and white photo capturing two traffic police officers during a roadside inspection. The uniformed inspectors are standing next to the hood of a light-colored passenger car and talking to each other. The city's famous monument featuring giant pencils, electrical towers, and overhead trolleybus wires are clearly visible in the background against the bright sky. A routine work day. This is a scene of peaceful life in Donbas Stock Photo
