Passengers climb aboard and cross the tracks in a scrum of backpacks at Ella railway station, Sri Lanka, after the train pulled in on the wrong platform - the points were probably set incorrectly. Ella marks the end of the scenic, roughly 65-kilometre line from Nanu Oya, built in 1876 by the British colonial administration to carry tea, cinnamon, pepper and nutmeg from the highlands down to the port city of Colombo.
