East Lothian, Scotland, United Kingdom, 10th April 2021. UK Weather: swan pair lay eggs. This female mute swan had an eventful year, losing one of 4 cygnets last year as well as her partner. She raised 3 juveniles until the cold snap in February froze the reservoir. They all disappeared but the female returned with a new male and the process has started again. Two eggs have appeared in the new nest which the swans are continuing to build. Swans take 12-24 hours to lay one egg at a time so more are expected. The mute swan pair building the nest from reeds
