A fabric banner shows the three-legged crow Yatagarasu alongside the scallop shell, the emblems of two sister pilgrimage routes: the Kumano Kodo in Japan and the Camino de Santiago in Europe. In the Kumano region, the crow is regarded as a divine messenger and guide for pilgrims; its three legs represent heaven, earth and humankind. The two routes have been officially twinned since 1998; those who complete both in full receive the "Dual Pilgrim" stamp. Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.
